Inspired by the Mediterraneansea, Italy, Tibet, Morocco, Japan or even entirely imaginary territories, these small villages do not seek to faithfully reproduce a place. Every drawing invents its own geography, by blending architectural influences from around the world with imagination.
The square format also makes it possible to explore colour and the spaces left white further. Some compositions remain very graphic, others welcome bolder hues, but all retain the attention to detail that runs through Tenzin Tsémé's universe.

Why choose square-format illustrations?
The square-format illustrations offer a very distinctive balance. Unlike large-scale works, they immediately draw the eye and lend greater significance to each element. A house, a line, a white space or a splash of colour can be enough to transform the entire composition.
This format is particularly well suited to small villages and imaginary architectural settings, as it allows for the creation of densely packed worlds without compromising their clarity. Some works play on the accumulation of houses; others leave more space around the drawing to create a sense of breathing room.
